| On August 4, 2008, the TRCK signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the “Continuation, Law No. 19.123 of Human Rights” - Ministry of the Interior, Republic of Chile (the Chilean HR Commission) in order to develop a collaborative relationship between the two sides, and thus initiate an international alliance with regard to raising awareness on truth verification investigations of past abuses.
The objectives of the MOU are as follows:
1. Cooperation between the Sides in order to promote truth verification of past incidents and reconciliation.
2. Promote and increase capacity and institutional building of the Sides for the settlement of past incidents. |
